and the music keeps coming...
It looks like I'm readily closing in on 10-15 new tracks that will form the basis of the next Billy Riggs Band CD. My manager Nick and I will be selecting the best group of songs to take to the studio, tweaking the sounds and mixes trying to make things really click. I intend to go to Cleveland, OH to work with Ryan Lott in his studio. At this point I am targeting the middle to end of May because it seems to work for schedules the best. Here is a list of some of the new song titles to give you a taste of what's to come:
I have a 2-3 more songs that remain untitled, but they will join this group eventually. I may be trying some of these out live within the next two months so keep your ears open.
Ice Cream Summer
Better Than
At Ease
Cincinnati
Dandelions
Complex Paradigm
Object of My Affection
Just Another Thing (It's Only a Fling)
Meeting Mona
Clay Street
Bluegrass Horseman
Thinkin About... Forever
Yoga Class

I’m always impressed an intrigued by singer/song writers, and wonder where they get their material. Knowing that you draw off your own real life experiences for all of your songs makes your work especially interesting and engaging. What inspired the song "Yoga Class" and what is the story behind "Just Another Thing (It's Only a Fling)"?
I have to say... that I think i know who wrote this... and since I trust their honestly, I feel an honest answer is warranted...
To be honest... I feel like I've tried hard to draw less from my life experience as of late and to be more obscure and hypothetical, rather than have my life story spilled out for others to read.
That said the songs you refered to relate to direct experiences and I contradict myself... Both the songs are in their infancy and may never reach full status as recordings. Yoga class is about my recent experience with Bikram Yoga and was inspired by a very inspiring individual. Just Another Thing... was inspired by my own occasional rebelious, self destructive nature.. and it is really not appropriate to talk about in...
On the whole, I guess I'm a very emotive person and making the distinction of "make believe" is tough for me sometimes - I (we all) have such a vividly coloful and wonderfully "fantastic" life experience to write about.
